Jose Guillen Injured Again

Jose Guillen Washington NationalsJose Guillen (WAS) - Guillen had a pretty solid 2005 season-batting .283 with 24 dingers and 76 RIBs. However, 2006 will not be a banner year. Guillen has a wrist injury and he will most likely have surgery-expect him to be out for at least three months. He is expected to return in June 2006.

Just a couple days ago things were looking up for Guillen. He had started taking batting practice and proclaimed himself just about ready to play. How quickly things change in professional sports.

The Washington Nationals are going to miss his offensive presence. Given the injury and time, it’s unlikely that Jose Guillen can salvage the season. By the time he comes back and gets into the swing of things, the season will be winding down. However, in this age of medical miracles, all hope is not lost-yet.

If you have Jose Guillen on your fantasy team, now’s the time to think about a replacement. If you are still drafting, Guillen might be a bonus pickup for later in the year.
