Jose Guillen, who was thought to be heading out the door, got a second medical opinion on Saturday. Surgery was determined to be a non-necessary procedure for Guillen’s injury. On Friday, Dr. Edward St. Mary recommended the tendon surgery that would have put Guillen out of baseball for up to three months—and possibly destroyed his year.
Jose Guillen (WAS) - Guillen had a pretty solid 2005 season-batting .283 with 24 dingers and 76 RIBs. However, 2006 will not be a banner year. Guillen has a wrist injury and he will most likely have surgery-expect him to be out for at least three months. He is expected to return in June 2006.
