Sure, betting on the NFL, NBA, etc is exciting, but I’m talking pure profits here. Could this be why many sportsbooks don’t make the same promotional effort that they do with basketball and football?

Do you think this is true? I do.

Here’s the other factor—amount of games. If you’re going to buy MLB picks, it can make sense. Think about it for a moment. Unlike football, there’s a plethora of games to wager on almost every day of the week.

Confused? Don’t be. It’s simple. With a sport like football, and boy do I love that sport too, the sports bettor is forced to select from a limited amount of games. The lines also tend to be more accurate.

However, with MLB baseball, there are so many games on a daily, weekly and monthly basis that sports bettors can pick and choose their targets.

I think the longer season gets to many novice sports bettors. It’s easy to start confusing stats and to simply get overwhelmed by the amount of data and angles 4-5 months into the season.
